The best way to make Jordanian Mansaf in the authentic style from

Mansaf, one of the most famous Jordanian dishes, is considered one of the most popular dishes in Jordan and is an official dish in the country. It has gained considerable popularity in Arab countries. Therefore, today we will present to you the correct and authentic way to prepare Jordanian Mansaf.

Ingredients:

  • Local lamb meat: half to 2 kilos
  • Onion
  • Bay leaves: 3 leaves
  • Cardamom: 4 pieces
  • Salt
  • Whole milk: 2 kilos
  • Egg or cornstarch
  • Saffron dye or any yellow food coloring or turmeric
  • Short-grain rice: 800 grams
  • Vegetable oil or local ghee or vegetable butter
  • Shrak bread
  • Parsley
  • Almonds or pine nuts

Steps:

  • Put the meat in a pot and immerse it in water.
  • Turn on the gas under the pot and wait for the water to boil, then remove the scum.
  • Add the onion, bay leaves, and cardamom.
  • Add salt as desired.
  • Leave the pot on the fire for 60 minutes.
  • Prepare the milk and whisk it with the egg well.
  • Add the milk to the pot and dilute it with the meat broth until it becomes medium in consistency.
  • Add the saffron or turmeric to the milk.
  • Add the pieces of meat to the milk and leave it on the fire for 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Wash the rice and immerse it in lukewarm water, then add salt.
  • Add oil, ghee, or butter to another pot, then add the rice and stir it a little.
  • Immerse the rice in meat broth or regular water, then add saffron and stir it well.
  • Leave the rice on the fire for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare a pot and spread the Shrak bread on it, then add the rice, meat, parsley, almonds or pine nuts, then add the milk.
